First Friday Lavender Lunch
Every month, 12:00-1:00 pm, at the Faculty Club’s Great Hall.
Since September 2006, this casual noontime gathering is popular with staff and faculty throughout the campus. Join with long-time colleagues and make new friends. Newcomers are welcomed by veterans typically in a ratio of one to three, so none need feel the odd person out -- and all may feel comfortably queer and out!
The cafeteria makes it easy and economical to grab lunch (or bring a discreet brown bag). In a grand historic setting, congregate around the long wooden tables adorned by tasteful rainbow flags. Sometimes our numbers have taken up a goodly portion of the Great Hall; other times, we enjoy more intimate small groups for wide-ranging conversations and schmoozing. It's all good fun.
Dates vary, 12:00-1:00 pm, at the Gender Equity Resource Center, 202 Cesar Chavez Student Center.
Beginning in January 2008, presentations offer information and tools for personal welfare and professional development, and opportunities to connect with campus colleagues around topics of mutual interest.
Topics have included: financial and estate planning for LGBT individuals and couples; tax issues for registered domestic partners and for same-sex married partners; transgender issues in higher education; LGBT parents at Cal; being the "B" in LGBT; repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"; impacts of Proposition 8 on UC and California; discrimination resolution resources at Cal; the aging of the Stonewall generation; updates on the marriage equality campaign; connecting with queer Cal alumni; graduate student LGBT-related research at Cal; queer perspectives on religion and spirituality; queer/straight friendships; and annual reports from the CAC-LGBT.

Bi-Monthly Happy Hours
Every two months or so, usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays, 5:15-7:00 pm, locations near campus vary.
Beginning in 2007, faculty and staff intermittently meet to relax and converse in informal settings. For upcoming dates, email email@example.com .
Meetings of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the LGBT Community at Cal (CAC-LGBT)
Monthly, 12:00-1:00 pm; dates and locations vary each semester.
Staff and faculty representatives of LavenderCal serve alongside representatives of the undergraduate and graduate student bodies to advise the Chancellor and other senior leadership on a regular basis.
At monthly meetings, CAC members discuss emerging campus issues, plan collaborations with various campus entities, organize the drafting of reports and recommendations, and so on. All affiliates of the UC Berkeley campus are welcome to attend business meetings as observers.
